In January, Cooke unveiled an exclusive deal with Loblaw, Canada’s largest retailer, to sell its integrated multi-trophic aquaculture (IMTA) salmon under a new brand called WiseSource salmon.

Now Loblaw wants to expand the agreement and Cooke is looking to ramp up its IMTA supply, Cooke’s communications vice president Nell Halse told IntraFish.

“We are adding new products to their [Loblaw’s] line up and have been asked to significantly increase our volumes,” Halse said.

“We are also actively looking for a U.S. retailer to augment our Canadian [IMTA] sales," she said.
