Northeast Nutrition, one of the manufacturing arms of Cooke Aquaculture, concluded a five-year $20.3 million (€18.3 million) upgrade of its equipment and technology at its Truro fish feed mill.

The feed mill produces salmon feed for Cooke Aquaculture’s operations in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Maine.

The upgrades have increased the feed mill's production capacity to 100,000 metric tons annually, up from 65,000 metric tons.

Additionally, Cooke Aquaculture is still in the middle of a $112 million (€101.1 million) capital investment plan made for the period of 2018 to 2022, which will fund "the Northeast Nutrition mill capacity expansion, a new A.C. Covert seafood distribution and retail center in Dartmouth, along with hatchery and post-smolt facilities and seawater site and equipment upgrades."

Northeast Nutrition was established by Cooke Aquaculture in 2007, following the purchase of the feed mill plant from Nutreco.
