Jorge Claro -- a consultant hired by the Banks and Financial Entities Association of Chile AG (ABIF) to analyze the productive and financial situation of the salmon farming industry -- told the newspaper Diario Financiero it could take just five years for recovery.
However, he didn’t say whether he was calculating from 2007 when the ISA disaster struck, or from 2009.
Such a recovery, he said, will require producers keep to the new regulations that will be stipulated in new act laws governing the industry.
