That’s according to Asle Guneriussen of Akvaplan Niva. Each year this North Norwegian firm examines around 200 farm sites, mainly in North Norway.
The farms are examined while production is in its peak period. “Grab samples” are taken at the pens and these are analyzed immediately after. The samples are given a grade on a scale of one to four. Grades 1 and 2 are accorded the color green, for “OK,” grade three is given the color yellow, for “in the danger zone” while grade for gets the color red, for “environmentally burdened.”
