Norwegian salmon farmer Cermaq included the AquaDome technology in its application for green salmon production licenses, a new type of closed-containment system the company has helped to develop in the past four years, first through its subsidiary Ewos Innovation.
The price tag for the project so far is NOK 26 million ($4.3 million/€3.2 million).
Building is now underway of a full-scale plant that is a joint project between the Nordfjord company Maloy-Selskapet MSC AS, Cermaq and Innovation Norway/ the tax deduction arrangement Skattefunn, which is designed to boost industry’s efforts in the area of research and development.
