Clearwater Seafoods has lost NGO Ocean Wise's “recommended” rating for its offshore lobster fishery in Eastern Canada, part of continuing fallout from a court conviction last fall that found the company guilty of "gross violations" of fisheries regulations, according to the CBC.

Ocean Wise seafood program, part of the Vancouver Aquarium in British Columbia, revoked its approval after Canada's Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) convicted Clearwater company CS ManPar for storing 3,800 lobster traps on the ocean bottom off the Nova Scotia coast for upward of two months in the fall of 2017.
