Canadian shellfish giant Clearwater Seafoods said most of its Chinese market growth stems from organic sales rather than being linked to effects of US-China trade war tariffs.

Around 50 percent of Clearwater's total business is derived from the Asian market with 26 percent coming from Chinese sales.

Clearwater has been present in the Chinese market for the past 20 years. Bolstered by strong availability to clam supplies in particular the company has been boosted by demand from the sushi market in the Asia Pacific region.
