Clearwater Seafoods CEO Ian Smith just finished his fifth straight quarter of growth, and he attributes the company's success to diversification in the marketplace, particularly China.
“We’ve been in China for almost twenty years, and what’s happened is the business has been building steadily as we’ve built our customer base and distribution channel,” Smith told IntraFish. “But what has happened is with the rise of the middle class in China, and their growing spending power, there has been a rise in demand that has really begun to accelerate during the last five years.”
