Norwegian Fisheries Minister Per Sandberg said Wednesday that his agency expects to sign a memorandum of understanding this week with Chinese veterinary authorities that would allow normal trade of farmed salmon to the Asian giant.

A Chinese delegation is expected to arrive in Bergen on Thursday, and the agreement could be signed as early as Friday.

Sandberg could not give a timeline on when Norwegian farmed salmon exports would resume.
