Chile's cost: $1.5 billion

It will cost $1.55 billion (€1.1 billion) in new investments to rebuild the Chilean salmon industry to its former heights, according to Nordea Markets senior analyst Kolbjorn Giskeodegaard -- and that’s not counting debt accrued.
