After seeing a slight increase in week 51, Chilean salmon prices for fish heading into the US market saw another big leap in week 52, according to the latest data by SalmonEx.
The price for average D Trim wholesale Atlantic salmon jumped $0.13 (€0.12) to $3.36 (€3.10) per pound.
Prices for head-on Atlantic salmon from Chile, size 10-12, at wholesale in Brazil on the other hand decreased. Prices fell by $0.03 (€0.03) week-on-week down to $4.47 (€4.10) per kilo.
Meanwhile, the average prices for trout heading to Japan, sizes 4-6, and for frozen headed and gutted (H&G) coho remained unchanged.
