He estimates Chile will produce around 450,000 metric tons of salmonids this year – as opposed to 350,000 metric tons last year (Atlantic salmon, trout and coho).
The article doesn’t specify whether this is round weight, but the source is reported as saying produced slaughter weight in 2015 will be one million metric tons, or about the same as Norway.
Norwegian sources are operating with around one million metric tons round weight --whole fish equivalents (WFE) for 2010.
