The story started when on Aug. 5, without warning, AquaChile’s chairman Victor Hugo Puchi stepped down on from the board of the industrial body SalmonChile.
A few weeks later, on Aug. 23, AquaChile itself followed suit, but that withdrawal was not officially announced before Monday of last week.
By then, on Aug. 20, Cermaq group CEO Geir Isaksen had explained to IntraFish about Puchi’s protest. When Puchi sat on the board of directors, his recommendation to the authorities was that the distance between fish farm installations should be 3.2
