According to the Website Aqua, which makes reference to a notification from the country’s fisheries directorate Sernapesca, the company in question is the aquaculture company Trusal SA, which is alleged to have trout in a farm site in Zone (“barrio”) number 14 in Region 10.

The authorities have imposed a routine three-month fallow period for the zone, from June until August, as a part of the measures to prevent new outbreaks of infectious salmon anemia (ISA).

Major players in Chile fear any breach of sanitary measures, as this could prove hazardous for rebuilding of the country’s salmon industry.
