According to sources, representatives from the companies have been holding talks recently about the future of Villa Organic. The talks have reportedly discussed the question of whether Cermaq would take over Villa Organic – either the whole group or only parts of it.
Today Cermaq farms salmon in Finnmark, northern Norway, through its farming subsidiary Mainstream.
Villa Organic operates salmon activities in the same region through its subsidiary Villa Arctic, which owns a series of licenses in eastern Finnmark.
Rumors have circulated for a while now that Villa Organic would be sold as a whole or in parts.
