Chile’s Supreme Court confirmed a sentence imposing a fine of approximately CLP 24.5 million (€31,715/$35,562) to Chilean salmon farmer Cermaq Chile for violations to the Fishing and Aquaculture Law, reports La Razon.

The sanction, which was first applied by the National Service of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Sernapesca) after finding that the company did not maintain the required cleanliness at a salmon farm, was ratified by the Supreme Court following an appeal by the company.
