“Annual growth of 10 percent has been possible in periods, while we have built ourselves up," he said. "But when volumes become larger, 10 percent per annum is a massive amount. By all means increase production by 50,000 metric tons a year, but not by 500,000 metric tons."
Isaksen is critical about the maximum permitted biomass (MPB) regime, which regulates growth in the industry. “My worry is that the MPB regime will lead to farm sites being driven to the absolute limit -- for too long,” Isaksen said.
