The Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI) said Thursday Illinois-based CenSea joined the GSSI Global Partnership as a funding partner. The company is one of the largest frozen seafood importers in the Midwest.
“CenSea’s nearly 60 years of experience in the seafood industry, together with their robust sustainability guidelines and ethical business practices, makes them a strong partner in our global non-competitive effort in ensuring clarity, confidence, and choice in seafood certification,” said GSSI Managing Director Herman Wisse.
Recently several companies have jumped on the GSSI train, including Sunnyvale Seafood and Santa Monica Seafood.
