Canadian supplier ready to tackle US retail market

After a busy year of getting its new value-added products into Canadian retailers, Premier Marine Canada is now eyeing the US market.

The company opened a new office in Charlotte, North Carolina, and its value-added seafood product line was well received at the Boston seafood expo, said Sunny McGaw, marketing vice president.

"Coming out of Boston, I feel reinvigorated," McGaw told IntraFish. The company's Waterview Market shrimp with sauce was one of 12 finalists in the 2016 Seafood Excellence Awards.

Under the Waterview Market brand, which debuted last year in Canada, Premier Marine Canada hopes to launch its shrimp with sauce, shrimp nuggets, shrimp tacos and shrimp ready meals in US retailers.
