Support for aquaculture and fisheries on Prince Edward Island, Canada, will be provided by two new programs, reported The Guardian.

The Research, Innovation and Growth Program will focus on short-term research and development projects, while the PEI Fisheries and Aquaculture Clean Technology Adoption Program will provide incentives to reduce environmental impacts.

“Our seafood sector is key to the rural areas of Prince Edward Island, providing jobs for Islanders and contributing to the economy,” said Jamie Fox, minister of Fisheries and Communities.
