The deals, sealed in July, saw Camposol’s shrimp subsidiary Marinazul acquire two shrimp companies and one farm for a combined debt and cash amount of roughly $4.75 million (€3.7 million).

This has expanded Marinazul’s shrimp farming area to 560 hectares, up from 250 hectares.

Now the group plans to invest $800,000 (€622,440) in 2010 alone to upgrade the farms, Camposol said in a statement in July.
