It’s difficult to sum up this year’s Brussels seafood show tidily. When one part of this sector suffers, another typically does well. This year, I got a very certain sense of uncertainty, no matter who I spoke with.
While business will go on -- and in some cases be strong -- in the seafood industry, I don’t think we’ll see much stability until next year. Here’s what I think we’ll find:
The recession will be tapering off. I don’t have more information than anybody else, but it seems to me the seafood industry is in a holding pattern while the world shakes off its economic woes.
