The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) forecasted 29.52 million sockeye for the Bristol Bay harvest next year, which is 17 percent less than what fishermen landed this year.

ADF&G said preliminary Bristol Bay sockeye harvest is 35.5 million this year.

However, the 29.52 million sockeye forecast is still 8 percent greater than the previous 10-year mean harvest and 46 percent greater than the long-term mean harvest of 20.20 million.

Including the South Peninsula harvest, the common property harvest forecast for 2016 is 31.24
