Germany's seafood industry is looking with consternation at the lack of progress made during the Brexit negotiations between the United Kingdom and the European Union.

"So far, nothing has happened," Matthias Keller, managing director of Fisch-Informationszentrum (FIZ), said at a press conference in Hamburg last week, attended by IntraFish. "It really is a confession of failure."

Germany's seafood sector will feel the impact on the processing side and the fishing segment, and its dependency on Great Britain is "very high."
