Altemir Gregolin, head of the new Fisheries and Aquaculture Ministry of Brazil, created last summer by President Luiz Ignacio Lula da Silva, will discuss with Norway opportunities for expansion in Brazilian aquaculture.
On Aug. 15, before the show, which runs Aug. 18-21, opportunities for expansion of Brazil’s tilapia and shrimp farming industries will be discussed during a seminar at the Brazilian embassy in Oslo.
Da Silva has pledged to boost the country’s seafood production industry, which currently only produces one million metric tons, with 24 percent coming from aquaculture.
