The Brazilian market will re-open to Argentinean red shrimp imports following a court decision lifting a ban on the import of the products imposed by the Brazilian Association of Shrimp Farmers (ABCC) in 2013.

The ministry of Agroindustry of Argentina said the Brazilian Court of First Instance based its decision on a number of scientific articles proving that imports of wild and farmed shrimp do not pose a risk for Brazil.

The court’s decision can be appealed over the next 15 days.
