Brazilian supplier Noronha Pescados is banking on being the first company ever to provide direct-from-Alaska seafood to consumers in Brazil with its product launch this June.

The company is in talks with Trident, Ocean Beauty and Blue North Trading to get access to a steady source of pollock, cod and salmon -- the three "biggest products" in the Brazilian seafood market, according to Guilherme Blanke, CEO of Noronha Pescados. He says Brazilian consumers are more than ready for a better quality version of the China-processed Alaska seafood they're used to eating, and it seems Noronha's interest in top quality Alaska seafood is trickling down Brazil's seafood supply chain to buyers.
