Private equity-backed scallop harvester Blue Harvest Fisheries on Monday announced it acquired the vessels and shoreside assets of New Bedford-based processor Harbor Blue Seafood for an undisclosed amount.
Harbor Blue, established in 2005, is owned and operated by the Ingrande and Cordeiro families, both with long experience as fishermen.
The company specializes in the processing, sales and marketing of Northeast US species including scallops, tuna, crab, lobster, longline swordfish and surf clam.
