The Danish fish feed group -- which recently sold its stake in Sjotroll Havbruk -- also increased its earnings before interests and taxes (EBIT) by 19 percent in the quarter, to DKK 134 million (€18 million/$25.2 million).

BioMar sold its Sjotroll stake for NOK 540 million (€65.9 million/$92.4 million) but proceeds will only be reflected in the next quarter, the group said.

In large part, increasing demand from Chile is behind the group’s strong performance. The group also benefited from higher prices, exchange rates and a high proportion of value-added products.
