BioMar's recently finalized audit of its Brazilian soy supply found “no intent or negligence on the part of its Brazilian suppliers in being complicit with environmental or social crimes.”

BioMar’s Sustainability Analyst Erik Olave Gracey, who is trained in environmental and social impact, and an audit crew went to Sorriso, Mato Grosso, the capital of Brazil’s soybean industry, to examine NGO claims contained in the report “Salmon on soy beans - Deforestation and land conflict in Brazil,” of links between Brazilian suppliers Caramuru, Selecta and Imcopa and slave labor across their supply chains.
