Biomar’s Group CEO Torben Svejgard said his company continues to put research and innovation at the center of its growth strategy, noting that R&D of fishmeal replacements in salmon feed alone over the past 15 years has been more than $175 million.
“The global salmon farming industry saves $1.3 billion as a result -- not just in feed costs but in overall industry knowledge as well," Svejgard said.
Bass, bream and trout sectors have seen the same relative savings, and other species will benefit from the knowledge as well.
