Billund Aquaculture is going to use recycling aquaculture system (RAS) technology in its two new smolt plants for Norwegian farmer Arnoy Salmon.
Arnoy Salmon is part of Elvevoll Settefisk's fully integrated value chain from roe to market.
With the expansion of the new RAS units, the average weight of smolts can be increased from 100 to 200 grams. This will produce significantly better conditions for growth and production time in the sea. Larger smolt will also result in a shorter circulation rate in the cages, which in turn creates room for more exposure.
