The head of the Gladstone fish market in central Queensland hasrejected 600 kilograms of infectedbarramundi and banned any stock caught in the city's harbor.
The reason for the ban was red spots on the fish and a pinkand red tone to the belly’s underside, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, which appeared to be a rash or burn.
"The thing that bothered me was other species showingrashes and burns,” Simon Whittingham, the market's managing director, told the Herald. ”We aretold it could be a toxic algae or parasite.
