Land-based salmon farming group Atlantic Sapphire has chosen IntraFish Senior Reporter Lola Navarro to lead its communications department.
Under the role of sustainability, community engagement and press manager, Navarro will be responsible for managing the organization's communications on social and environmental issues, as well as working with media, community and other stakeholders.
In particular, Navarro's role will focus on implementing initiatives aimed at raising awareness of Atlantic Sapphire's sustainability efforts, social governance, contributions to local communities and the company's salmon farming model.
Navarro begins her role at the company's Danish offices, but will relocate to its Miami offices in the future.
She will report to the director of human capital, Cristina Espejo, and will work closely with rest of human capital team, CEO Johan Andreassen, and marketing teams to support communication processes across the company’s operations.
Navarro joined IntraFish in 2015 as a Business Reporter. She begins her new role with Atlantic Sapphire Oct. 1.
