The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) presented its proposed budget for 2017 to the Alaska State Senate Labor and Commerce committee last Tuesday, tabling a proposal for $3.4 million (€3.2 million) in the general fund match, down from about $4.9 million (€4.5 million) last year and a high of $7.8 million (€7.2 million) from three years ago.
Federal funds from the market access program of $4.5 million (€4.1 million) were requested, and the voluntary industry tax is estimated at $16.5 million, which brings the 2017 proposed budget to $24.4
