Dutch trader Anova Seafood is continuing with its strategy to ramp up its fresh and chilled product offering, Willem Huisman, co-founder and CEO of the firm, told IntraFish.
The company last week announced it is bolstering its own production activities by doubling the volumes of Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)-certified cod it produces, and by expanding its production of MSC tuna.
Huisman said Anova invested more than €2 million ($2.1 million) for "modern Baader equipment" in a cod production line at a sub-contracted factory in The Netherlands.
