Another salmon exporter celebrates record profit

The Bergen, western Norway-based group had revenues of almost NOK 2.3 billion (€292 million/$413.3 million) in 2010.

“When we started up in 2001, we had 17 producers as shareholders -- with a total of 30 production licenses. We now have 12 producers as shareholders -- with a total of 44 production licenses,” Seaborn Managing Director Jan Egil Ytrearne told IntraFish.

The shareholders are small, family-owned marine farming companies located in the counties of Hordaland, Sogn og Fjordane, More og Romsdal, Nordland and Troms.
