On Friday, IntraFish reported of panic in the farmed salmon market, after a round-up of weekly prices on the Norwegian spot market showed that the price had fallen to NOK 25 (€3.21/$4.54) per kilo.
That is the sharpest drop of 11 consecutive weeks experienced since 1992, one analyst said.
While the news is no catastrophe, it does mean that some producers will struggle to make a return, Klaus Hatlebrekke, analyst at DnB Nor Markets, said.
