Analysts at Carnegie are forecasting salmon prices of more than NOK 50 (€5.30/$5.90) for both this year and 2017 following new downward revisions in supply in the wake of Chile's algae crisis.
In a sector report published last week, the brokerage said it adjusted its salmon price estimate for 2016 to NOK 51 (€5.40/$6.10) and to NOK 52 (€5.50/$6.20) for 2017, from previous estimates of NOK 49 (€5.20/$5.80) for both years, due to “the most significant drop in global supply history."
