Harvesting of salmonids in Chile is expected to decline in the salmon year from July 2014-2015,according to Nordea Markets Senior Analyst Kolbjorn Giskeodegard in his address to the marine farming conference ‘Havbrukskonferansen 2013’ held in Oslo Wednesday.

At the end of October the Chileans had produced 400,000 metric tons Atlantic salmon.

Giskeodegard estimates Chilean production of Atlantic salmon will end up at 460,000 metric tons for the calendar year 2013.

In 2014 harvesting of Atlantic is expected to increase marginally, around 2 percent, to 470,000 metric tons.
