Marine Harvest this week warned of writedowns amounting to NOK 750 million (€82 million/$115 million) in Chile for the second quarter. This is due to increased slaughtering in relation to its plan. The result for the second quarter will be presented in Oslo on Aug. 14.
“Marine Harvest already warned in the first quarter it would make writedowns in the second,” analyst Dag Sletmo said.
Sletmo told IntraFish the group will come close to winding up its operations in Chile.
“But they will keep the facilities and be ready to start up again the day the sanitary situation improves sufficiently,” he said.
