Mississippi –based catfish processor America’s Catch defended itself against the National Guestworkers Alliance’s allegations against the company on Monday.
The NGA had issued a report on Friday stating that the company, along with three other seafood companies included in its investigation of Walmart suppliers, had federal labor violations that were “strong initial indicators of forced labor.”
"It is unfortunate that NGA would associate our company with allegations of forced labor, and we certainly deny any implication in that regard," Solon Scott III, president of the company, told IntraFish in an email.
