The share value is a record high since Salmar, which owns 50 percent of Scottish Sea Farms, first listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange three years ago.

At the time of the listing, shares sold for NOK 39 (€4.98/$6.55). This fell to a low of NOK 22 (€2.81/ $3.70) in January 2009.

"Salmar has been lagging behind the share rises of the other aquaculture companies listed in Oslo. The group has low financial gearing and lower liquidity than several other comparable companies," First Securities analyst Aslak Berge told IntraFish.
