Despite some headwind in terms of fishing in South Africa in the past months, the market for African hake continued to develop strongly into the second half of the year, with players both in South Africa and Namibia predicting fairly stable pricing and markets ahead.

"Fishing was a lot more volatile in South Africa than usual," Francois Kuttel, CEO of Oceana, told IntraFish.
