After such a terrible 2015 there should be enough willingness for Chilean salmon companies to make the hard decisions needed to restructure the sector this year, according to Gorjan Nikolik, senior analyst at Rabobank.
However an improvement in the financial situation might discourage willingness to compromise in the negotiations, he said during his presentation at the Marel Salmon ShowHow in Copenhagen on last week.
“I just got back from Chile and I think 2016 will be the year when Chile makes some very important structural changes – or at least I hope it is the year they make some important structural changes,” he said.
