In 2001, halibut sales amounted to NOK 7.2 million (€864,000/$1.2 million) and last year exports of farmed halibut totaled NOK 70.9 million (€8.5 million/$12.1 million). Measured in metric tons, exports increased in the same period from 119 metric tons to 903 metric tons.
In Nordic Seafarms’ long-term plans they have estimated a price paid of NOK 75 (€9/$12.8) per kilo for the period 2011-2013. For the period 2014-2015 the kilo price estimated is NOK 70 (€8.4/$11.9). In 2007 the average price for exported halibut was NOK 84 (€10.1/$14.3)
