After a very tough twelve months for the Irish seafood industry in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, the man charged with overseeing the fortunes of the sector on the emerald isle is pulling no punches about the outlook for this year.

"The industry is having a difficult 2021," Jim O’Toole, CEO of the BIM trade association told IntraFish, noting that the challenges faced by businesses last year have not gone away.

Closure of the hospitality industry is causing particular pain to the sector.
