Ocean Era's offshore aquaculture project set to be located off of the Florida coast is getting a second look under the Biden administration.
Known as the Velella Epsilon aquaculture project, the offshore demonstration farm, which would be the first of its kind in the United States, is slated to raise a single batch, or cohort, of 20,000 kampachi (Seriola rivoliana) in an offshore netpen aquaculture facility set to be located approximately 45 miles southwest of Sarasota, Florida.
