The top sustainability executive at Dutch animal nutrition giant Nutreco said the aquaculture industry is on the cusp of taking a clear lead on sustainable food issues such as carbon footprint and traceability -- if it acts quickly and with purpose.
Nutreco, owner of aquaculture feed producer Skretting, launched its new sustainability "roadmap" last week, targeted primarily at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in an effort to reach carbon neutrality by 2030.
