Poland-based seafood company Milarex is investing in antibacterial packaging for its European branded products, finding a way to adapt and address consumers’ fears and concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the pandemic, Milarex has noticed consumers are wary of exploring products on the shelves, a behavior linked to hygiene and perceived safety of their personal food supply.

The antibacterial surface coating on packaging is one way of closing the "hygiene gap," said Anders Tofte Wilhelmsen, head of sustainability and marketing at Milarex.
